Ethical Issues in Pandemic Influenza Virus

Although the timing and severity of the next influenza pandemic is impossible to predict, there is broad agreement that one will occur. Preparation is vital to mitigating its effects. A severe influenza pandemic like that which began in 1918 would be unlike other disasters in nature, scale, and duration. It could cripple normal business operations and disrupt global distribution of essential goods and services. Public health officials around the world are developing plans for handling an influenza pandemic in response to experts’ warnings that a widespread outbreak of the respiratory virus is inevitable. A pandemic occurs when a new strain of virus—one to which humans have not developed autoimmunity-becomes highly contagious and spreads across continents. But knowing when such an outbreak might happen is impossible to predict. In a severe pandemic flu, veterans’ health association (VHA), like other health care organizations, will face a surge in demand for care to large numbers of very sick people in the context of a highly transmissible disease.

With the grand success of Vaccines Asia Pacific 2015 conference, Conference Series LLC is organizing the “5th Annual Congress on Influenza, Respiratory Diseases & Infections: Vaccines and Therapeutics (IRDI Vaccines 2016)” will be scheduled during December 01-02, 2016 at Atlanta, USA. IRDI Vaccines 2016 bring together the Global leaders in Immunology and relevant fields to present their research at this exclusive scientific program. IRDI Vaccines 2016 Organizing Committee also invites Young investigators at every career stage to submit abstracts reporting their latest scientific findings in oral and poster sessions
